VanWest College Reopening Announcement

Good news! The campuses are reopening consultations starting Wednesday, June 10th!
Please contact your student advisor to book the appointment.
Please note that we will not be taking students without an appointment during this period to protect everyone who is in the building. Please arrive only at your scheduled appointment time and do not bring friends with you unless you have cleared it with us in advance.
We thank you for your understanding and are very excited to see you!
Our team is also working very hard to implement a gradual return to on-site learning starting in July. We have missed seeing our students in the classroom. Under the guidance of the Ministry of Education, the school leadership is planning for a safe return for students and staff.
This is a long-awaited opportunity for students to see their friends and teachers again; although, it is under very different circumstances than what they are accustomed to. Please prepare yourself and your students for the new reality and assess their physical and emotional preparedness for this experience. Our staff members are hard at work preparing for students to return to the campus.
To ensure all of our students and staff stay safe and healthy, we are strictly following all guidelines set by the BC government. We will strictly enforce the following measures:

• Temperature check on students and staff before they enter the building;
• Students, teachers and staff are required to wear non-medical masks or face coverings at all times;
• Staggered schedules or reduced class sizes to reduce contact intensity;
• Focus on individual or small group activities;
• Emphasis on zero physical contact between students;
• Space separation of desks throughout the classroom;
• Traffic-directed control through hallways and entrances;
• Increased access to hand sanitizer stations at main entrances;
• Increased signage around the building reminding students of physical distancing and hygiene practices;
• Increase cleaning, disinfecting, housekeeping, and other maintenance routines of all areas on campus;
• Quarantine practices for returning or incoming students;

Reopening plans are being finalized and details will be shared soon.
