Takahiro’s VanWest Vancouver testimonial!

VanWest College

Taka、

Our former IELTS student got the IELTS score, 6.5! We are very happy and proud of his achievement! Congratulations, Mohammed Afandi!

Mohammed took a full-time IELTS class in Vancouver for two months. He says “I felt very comfortable in IELTS class. IELTS teacher, Mike was very helpful and he always made sure everybody understands in the class. Also, we had a good nationality mix in the class; for example, Korea, Saudi Arabia, Peru and Taiwan.” He got accepted to go to Capilano University from September and he is going to study a Bachelor of Business Administration and Deploma of Marketing.

Good luck with everything and please come back to visit us anytime!

We offer a full-time IELTS from 9am to 4pm in Vancouver and a part-time IELTS from 9am t0 12pm in Kelowna. Please contact me at anna@vanwest.com if you have any questions!

Time to help others “Giving Back for Breakfast”

Kelowna students have been working hard to raise funds for this upcoming event called “Giving Back for Breakfast“. This is a fundraiser event for the Food Bank organized by Gayle Voyer at Total Events. (www.totalevents.ca)

The students came up with many great ideas for this event. For example, one student played the violin for the students, one group cooked and brought “donation” lunch for the rest of the students and some students gave a massage for the others during  lunch time. In this picture, the students are making donation boxes.

Only one group will get an opportunity to go to Delta Grand Okanagan Hotel to attend the breakfast on Tuesday, June 30th in the end but the important thing is that all the students from all over the world work as a team and get a great experience helping locals who need a help.

The Director of Studies in Kelowna, Jennifer Peachy says that “If we can suspend all judgment and accept that another human being needs our help, no matter where they live, we too can make a difference.”

Thank you very much for your help, Kelowna students! :)

Internship Testimonial

Our student, Daniel Martins (in the middle of the picture), had a great experience doing the internship program at VanWest College Vancouver! He even got the full-time job offer at the end of the program! Great job, Daniel!

“Nowadays, I work in a fuel cell company as a researcher. My job is basically being a member of the development team, which involves studies and practical tests on prototypes. I completed 2 months of my professional internship a couple of weeks ago. I came to Vancouver in December 2010 after my graduation in Chemical Engineering and, in that time, I had no detailed idea about what might happen in my career after this internship. I just wanted to achieve my fluency in English and to experience the North-American labor market. However, with great dedication and hard work, today I see excellent opportunities shining in my future. My internship, for example, that was supposed to be unpaid, became paid after one month. After that, this very internship that was supposed to be paid became in a full-time job offer. I have a lot to improve in my English yet, but the foundation built in the period of English learning was extremely important for my success.”

Mexican Student Testimonial

Below is a great testimonial from a former student Ruben Jimenez. He is sharing with us his experience in Vancouver and VanWest College!  Thank you Ruben!

Intercambio estudiantil

I love you Vancouver.

It was the most beautiful experience of my life.
