Meet Pedro in the Professional Customer Service Co-op Program
Pedro studied Production Engineering in his home country. He is currently in the Professional Customer Service Co-op program at the Kelowna campus. For his co-op, Pedro is working as a Front Desk Agent at one of the fastest growing hotels in Canada. Pedro has this to say about the program: “I really love the opportunity to meet new people from all around the world and enjoy that I get to use English the whole day at work. Sometimes, it’s hard to understand different types of accents and I face some difficulties to communicate with guests; other than that, I like working in this place.”
Meet Rafael in the Professional Customer Service Co-op Program
Rafael has a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering. Currently enrolled in the Professional Customer Service Co-op program on Kelowna campus, he is on a new journey and loving the experience. Rafael is also doing his co-op as Front Desk Agent at a famous brand hotel in Kelowna. He says, “What I enjoy the most about working here is the possibility to meet many different people and to talk to them. It is a really good opportunity to practice and improve my English communication skills. Besides, it has been a huge opportunity to develop some skills that I have never had a chance to develop, which I believe will be a strong advantage for me when I need to compete against other candidates in the future. The biggest challenge I had was to adapt myself to this new function because it is completely different from my previous job positions and duties. English was a huge barrier as well, but it’s not a problem anymore. I feel that I am improving day by day.”
